Mother's Day Link Up
This weekend we celebrate Mother’s Day.
This day that was only officially recognized as a national holiday in 1914, is now one of the biggest holidays of the year. So what about this BIG DAY? As with any big day, there are mixed reactions to the holiday. Even among moms themselves. So here today, you are officially invited to share about Mother’s Day.
Maybe you want to write an Ode to your mom, living or dead. Maybe you want to write an Ode to your kids, living or dead. Maybe you want to share a funny Mother’s Day story. Maybe you want to shed your Mother’s Day tears. Maybe you want to share some tips on how to make it through the day unscathed. However, you want to express yourself, the Centering Down floor is yours. If you are a blogger, just link up with the little blue frog. If you are not a blogger, feel free to write copiously in the comments. I myself this year plan to lower my expectations and just enjoy the fact that I have living children and a living mother (and mother-in-law) that I get to spend the day with. Someone will argue. I’ll still have to discipline a child. I will get tired at some point and wish I could take a nap. Breakfast may or may come off as planned (though if my crew gets anything spot on it is usually breakfast). But the day is not just about me, it is about US, together in relationships, and that will always be messy. So, here’s to enjoying the mess.
